Video captures Henderson gas station shootout

Surveillance videos recorded over the weekend at a gas station show a shootout involving multiple shooters.

The Henderson Police Department said it has identified several people in the video, but neighbors are still rattled after Saturday afternoon’s shootout just outside of Gate City Foods at 601 W Andrews Ave.

Police said one man had minor injuries to his feet from the shooting, which lasted about 20 seconds.

Bullets pierced through gas station windows and hit the North Henderson Heights apartments across the street.

Video shows two cars and an SUV at the pumps. A man wearing a blue jacket gets out of the white car and heads towards the store. The video shows a long gun tucked in his pants. The gunfire begins as he gets close to the store.

From another angle, the video shows the man jump back as bullets shatter the glass door. The video shows the man take the gun out and return fire along with another man who gets out of the white car with a gun drawn.

The video show the men shooting toward West Andrews Avenue as the SUV drove away. A man in a dark sedan at a nearby pump runs in the same direction.

A customer trying to escape fell to the ground to crawl away, the video shows.

Cars driving by turn around to avoid the shootout.

One woman told WRAL News she pushed her grandkids onto the floor behind a couch to shield them from the chaos. A grandmother shared photos on Facebook, which showed bullet holes in her car windshield.

Henderson police said officers have active warrants for four people: Jaymon Gibson, Charles Green Jr., Anthony Sanders Jr. and Jordan Turnage.

Anyone with information on their location is asked to call 911 or Henderson Vance Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925.
