JCPenney e-mail

The JCPenney store in North Hills is closing in April according to an e-mail sent to customers on January 17.

In the e-mail, JCPenney indicates that they are looking for employment opportunities for their associates in other JCPenney locations.

The store will be closing for good in late April 2020, although they have not offered an exact closing date.

The store closing was originally announced in August 2019, but a more specific time frame was not given at that time.

Kristen Bennett, a JCPenney spokesperson shared in an email to WRAL in August, "This decision is the result of an ongoing review of our store portfolio, which includes assessing locations that may not meet our required financial targets or represent an opportunity to capitalize on a beneficial real estate asset. It’s never easy taking actions that directly impact our valued associates and customers, however we feel this is a necessary business decision."

My thanks to Kristy S. for sharing the e-mail she received from JCPenney.
