RALEIGH, N.C. — For the first time in more than a decade, downtown Raleigh is getting a full-service grocery store.

Weaver Street Market is opening Saturday.

They’re going to be celebrating for a few days, with an official “baguette-breaking” – their version of a ribbon-cutting – on Monday at 10 a.m.

The market sells a wide selection of fresh produce and locally sourced products. They’ll have prepared restaurant-style foods, an artisan sandwich bar, fresh hearth-baked pizza and a sushi bar.

Weaver Street Market says they will validate one-hour parking in the Dillon Parking Deck for customers who make a purchase of $10 or more.

Curb-side pickup will be available to shoppers who purchase more than they can carry to their cars.

People who live downtown are ready to shop close to home.

“It feels great, just to be able to do everything in one spot and not have to drive everywhere, just to have it all here,” one resident said. “It’s awesome.”

Weaver Street Market said their prices in Raleigh will be comparable to their other locations in Carrboro, Hillsborough and Chapel Hill.
