Bicyclist killed in Fayetteville crash

Rim Road was closed Wednesday afternoon in Fayetteville following a fatal crash.

Fayetteville police said officers responded to a crash involving a car and a bicyclist near the intersection of Rim Road and Sandra Street just before 4 p.m.

The bicyclist, who has not been identified pending notification of family members, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not say what caused the crash.

Rim Road will remain closed from Raeford Road to Maggie Circle until further notice.
