8 ways to celebrate Hanukkah in Raleigh, Triangle in 2019

Raleigh Hanukkah Events

Chabad Center of Raleigh and Lafayette Village will host a Menorah Lighting and Gelt Drop on The Green from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Dec. 22. The lighting and gelt drop is at 3:30 p.m. Donuts and drinks will be provided by Chabad Center of Raleigh.

Beth Meyer Preschool in Raleigh is hosting Lights and Latkes from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 22. There will be latkes, other festive foods, crafts, and more. Advance tickets are $10 for kids ages 3 and up and $12 for adults.

Mishpacha, a local band, will perform a Hanukkah-themed concert at 2 p.m., Dec. 15, at Quail Ridge Books. It's free.

Crabtree Valley Mall will have a menorah lighting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23. The week-long display will be located in the upper level above the Santa set near Tic Tac Toys.

The Chabad of Cary marks Hanukkah with this nine-foot menorah in Apex.

Chapel Hill Hanukkah Event

The Levin Jewish Community Center in Chapel Hill will host a Hanukkah Festival from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15.

Durham Hanukkah Event

The Judea Reform Congregation hosts Chanukah Palooza from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Dec. 20. A limited number of tickets are available online and at the door.

Cary Hanukkah Event

The town of Cary's menorah lighting will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Dec. 23, at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave.

Apex Hanukkah Event

For the tenth year, Apex will host a big celebration during Chanukah in Downtown Apex. The event is a project of Chabad of Cary. It's open to all and free. It starts at 3 p.m., Dec. 22, with children's activities at Apex Community Center, 53 Hunter St. Kids will take part in crafts and games. A 5 p.m. lighting of the menorah follows at 220 N. Salem St., just down the street from the children's activities.. The evening includes music, holiday treats, a fire show and gelt launch.
